Mary Kay Rayl, 75, of Bay City, our kind and compassionate mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region with her family by her side. Mary Kay was born on January 31, 1941 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Clayton and Lillian (Honeywell) Biles. Mary Kay was crowned the 1958 Michigan Bean Queen in Fairgrove, and graduated from Akron High School with the Class of 1959. Mary Kay was employed with Akron-Fairgrove Schools and the Tuscola ISD as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Known for her selfless ways, Mary Kay enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and treasured time spent with her friends, watching old movies, and was a true animal lover. Family always came first, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love will live on for generations to come. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Cathy (Larry) Richardson and Brian (Sue) Rayl. Mary Kay was the beloved “Gram” of Eric Richardson, Stacy Rayl, Kyle (Ashley) Richardson, Katie (Justin) Dinsmoore, Evan (Katie) Richardson and Mitchell Rayl. She was the loving “Nana” (great-grandma) of Mckinley Sigmund and Korben Richardson. Mary Kay is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Thompson of Carlsbad, CA and Patti Morton of Akron, OH, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. A private memorial ceremony will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mary Kay may be directed to McLaren Hospice or your local animal shelter. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Katrina, and the entire staff of McLaren Bay Region for their compassionate care. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd. Hampton Twp.
