Mary W. Young-Lawrence

Mary W. Young-Lawrence, 82, of Bay City, our sweet, devoted, and sometimes feisty mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region. Mary was born in Bay City on February 21, 1933, the daughter of the late Henry and Olga (Reichard) Kassner. She was united in marriage on July 16, 1951 to Calvin Young. Sadly, Calvin preceded Mary in death after almost twenty years of marriage on August 4, 1970. She later married her longtime friend, Jean Lawrence on May 12, 1984. Jean also preceded Mary on August 20, 1999. Throughout life, Mary was known for her true love and dedication to her family. She enjoyed camping, playing bingo, and occasionally visiting the casino, where the penny slots were her favorite. While she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on for generations to come in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Beth Woods, Jeffrey and wife, Kathlene Young and daughters-in-law, Carol Young, and Terry and husband, Mike Stevens. She was the most awesome grandma of Allen and wife, Michelle Young II, Meagan and husband, Paul Bublitz, Eric and wife, Kay Young, Josh and wife, Angela Woods, Bryan and wife, Lindsey Woods, and Trevor Young. She will always be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Breanne, Kassidy, Christian, Carter, Wyatt, Ryan, Ethan, Kristin, and her sister, Lois and husband, Bill Davis. Also surviving are many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and her husbands, Mary was welcomed home to heaven by her sons, Allen Young and Robbie Young; grandson, Christopher Young, and son-in-law, Frank Woods. Mary's family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 2:30 PM until the time of her 7:00 PM Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Pastor Joe Atchinson will officiate and private interment will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
