Michael Thomas Tanner, 62, of Bay City, our caring, loving, and fun father, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2018 at his home. Mike was born in Bay City on May 20, 1955, the son of the late Roswell and Grace (Prior) Tanner. He graduated from Garber High School and briefly served in the Marines. Mike worked on Mackinaw Island, at the Michigan Sugar Company, and with the state road commission. He enjoyed fishing in Oscoda and was a life long Catholic. Above all, Mike was will be remembered for the love and care he gave to his father and brother, Dennis. Mike will be missed dearly. Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Dylan Tanner; siblings, Rosalind (Robert) Nielsen, Russell (Susan) Tanner, and Dennis Tanner; four nephews; one niece, along with many cousins and friends. Mike’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of his 11:00 AM Memorial Liturgy at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with Rite of Committal to be held privately at St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
