Myrtle passed away peacefully at home on Monday February 8, 2016. Age 71 years. Myrtle Mary Barnett was born June 4, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late William and Camilla (Keeler) Barnett. She worked for Martin Luther Home for many years as a housekeeper. Myrtle and her mother were active with the bingo at the Knights of Columbus hall for many years, and she carried on those duties after her mother passed away. Her hobbies were playing bingo, shopping, and cooking for her family. Myrtle's family was her life, and she touched everyone's heart. She will be greatly missed by all who came upon this woman's path. She is gone, but will never be forgotten. Surviving are her soul mate of 22 years Edward Haller; three sons and one daughter: William (Dawn) Cox, Kelly (Chris) Boswell, Joseph (Kim) Cox, and Kenneth Richter, II. Also, her grandchildren: Matthew Meyers, Cory Gindling, Alexis Cox, Debra and Kenny Richter, III, and Richard DeShone, Jr.; and great grandchildren: Keenan and Zoey DeShone, Marcus and Liam Meyer, and Jaelyn and Sadie Gindling. Also surviving are her brother and sisters: Shirley (Dave) Coy, Barb Stevens, Philip (Vaughn) Barnett, Joseph (Debbie) Barnett, Debbie (Rick) Henne, and Teri (Howard) Grifhorst; and several nieces and nephews. Myrtle was predeceased by her son, Bradley Cox; brother, Billy Barnett; sister, Katie Krohn; grandson, William Cox, II; and brother-in-law Ron Stevens. A memorial service will take place 1PM Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd (S. M- 47). Chaplain Carol Wesolek will officiate. The family invites friends to gather at the funeral home one hour before the service. Memorial offerings are suggested to the American Cancer Society, as Myrtle was a cancer survivor.
