Nancy H. Rowan, 76, of Essexville, our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Brian’s House with her family by her side. Nancy was born on March 23, 1943 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Robert and Janet (Stein) Berger. Nancy graduated from Central High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in teaching from Michigan State University. While at a bowling alley, Nancy was introduced to the love of her life, David Rowan. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 30, 1974. Together they shared over 45 years, two wonderful children, and countless memories. Nancy was a schoolteacher for Unified School District in Long Beach, California, retiring after many years. She enjoyed gardening, watching or rather, napping, through movies, and keeping in touch with distant relatives. She will be missed dearly and lovingly remembered for generations to come. Nancy leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, David; their two children, Robert (Danielle) Rowan and Sara (Tim) Good; grandchildren, Abraham, Coralie, and Audrina; siblings, Mark (Deanne) Berger and David Berger, along with several friends. Nancy’s family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 2:00 PM until the time of her 5:00 PM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Memorial contributions may be directed to Brian’s House. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
