Neal J. Martzowka

June 23, 2014
Passed away Monday, June 23, 2014. Age 85 years. Neal Julius Martzowka was born June 26, 1928, the son of Julius and Ruth (Blake) Martzowka. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Army. Neal was honorably discharged in 1949. He married Carol Hayner and they were blessed with the gift of two daughters, Sandy Martzowka Polk and Wendy Martzowka. Their beloved Sandy passed away in 2011 and was in Heaven waiting for her daddy to come home to be with the Lord and all the loved ones who had gone before him. His love for hunting and fishing with friends and cousins meant so much to him. The stories and jokes were often repeated. Also, Neal was well-stated as a Master Marksman. The girls loved to watch Neal shoot skeet and trap at the Saginaw Gun Club. He was a hard worker at General Motors for over 41 years before his retirement. Neal was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, and throughout his life he showed his love for the church and the Lord. Surviving besides his wife Carol and daughter Wendy are five beautiful grandchildren; Blake Julius Martzowka, Leland Parker Polk, Gavin Neal Polk, Christa Caroline Polk, and Clarissa May Polk. They stood by their grandfather in his final days. Clarissa often said Neal was the best grocery shopper ever and always provided lots of food. Neal was a wonderful role model for his grandchildren, and was more like a father to them. Neal is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins; Charlotte and Dr. Glenn Kindt, Paul and Sue Martzowka, Ann and Kelley Feusse, and Carla and Dr. Paul Wagstaff. He also leaves his in-laws; Dan Hayner, Erdeen Frank, Dave Hayner, cousins the Schultz family, and his dear dedicated friend Bill LaBrake.. The family wishes to thank their family members and friends for all of the support during Neal's illness. Neal always shared his love with his family and they love him and will miss him greatly. Pastor Paul Hinz will officiate the funeral service at 11AM Friday, June 27, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Avenue. Interment with military honors will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family welcomes friends to visit at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S.
