Nong Clark

nong clark

Nong Clark, 67, Saginaw, our loving, devoted and generous wife, mother, sister, bonus grandmother and friend passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Nong was born on April 22, 1956, in Ang Thong Province, Thailand. Nong was a woman of boundless compassion, a gentle soul who touched the lives of all those she encountered.

Nong’s life was a testament to her selflessness and unwavering commitment to her family. Her love story bloomed when she met her soulmate, Mike Clark, while he served in the U.S. Army. Joined in holy matrimony on January 10, 1973, in a picturesque ceremony in Bangkok, they embarked on a journey together that would span the globe. Nong’s resilience and unwavering support made her an exceptional military wife and mother. Together, they created a home that offered love, warmth, and unconditional support.

Nong dedicated herself to the food and service industry, a career where her compassionate nature could truly shine. For three decades, she worked at various establishments including Fuzzy’s, Old Towne Drive-In, and Old Country Buffet, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless patrons. Her passion for cooking was unrivaled, and she became renowned for her flavorful eggrolls, captivating the palates and hearts of those lucky enough to savor her culinary creations. During the tumultuous times brought on by the pandemic, Nong, ever the learner, honed her baking skills, discovering hidden talents and spreading joy through her delectable treats.

Outside of work, Nong found solace in her garden, nurturing vibrant blooms and finding tranquility amidst nature’s beauty. A lover of music, she found joy in exploring the latest trends.

Nong leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness to her beloved husband, Mike Clark, who stood by her side throughout life’s joys and trials; children, Patricia A. (Justin) Girouard and Patrick M. (Samantha) Clark; a multitude of bonus grandchildren; sister, Moi Clark, and mother-in-law, Patricia A. Clark. Along with her parents, Nong was preceded in death by her niece, Holly Schwind.

Nong’s family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 9:30 AM until Nong’s 10:30 AM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot.
