Peter Rohde

Peter Brent Rohde, 55, of Essexville, our hardworking and devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Flint. Pete was born in Bay City on October 26, 1959, the son of the late Carl and Elaine (Smerdon) Rohde. On September 16, 1989, he was united in marriage to Nettie Sharrard, who survives. Pete will forever be remembered for his strong work ethic and will be deeply missed by his co-workers at Penske in Flint. His devotion to his family, along with his love of archery and fishing will live on in the hearts of those he loved for years to come. Pete leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 26 years, Nettie. He was the loving father of Karie Schultz, Brandon Rohde, Briana Rohde, Rebecca Rohde and Brittany Rohde and the proud grandpa of Nick and Chase Sharrard. Pete also leaves behind his siblings, Mary (Ed) Andrus, Carla (John) Bachman, Carl “Butch” (Judy) Rohde, Tim (Sandy) Rohde, Debbie (Alan) Gornowicz, Loren Rohde and Connie (David) Gribas, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Pete was welcomed home to heaven by his brother, Kurt Rohde. 5. Pete and myself hired in to Penske about the same time back in 2004. We both started out of the Pontiac terminal running SPO
It was about a year later mid 2005 we transferred up to the Flint terminal. Working together pretty much on second shift for the next nine years we became good friends. He went through a lot in his life but for the most part maintain a positive attitude.
He would often stop by my house Saturday morning after work to visit my grandchildren and play with my dog…TJ. As I remember it, Pete was the only person TJ allowed in without even barking at! Good with coworkers, children, and animals Pete was a great friend and he will be a great loss to many!
