Robert "Bob" Vincent Grochowski, 72, of Essexville, our caring and loving husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle and friend was born into eternal life on the evening of Monday, October 7, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Bay City on April 5, 1941. He would go on to meet Sandra K. Kryszak. They dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on June 28, 1969 in St. John the Evangelist Church. Bob proudly served with the U.S. Air Force as an M.P. from 1960-1963. A hardworking and dedicated man, Bob retired after forty years of service from G.M. Grey Iron Metal Casting Plant, where he worked as a fork truck driver. His love of sports was unwavering. He was an avid Tigers, Lions and Pistons fan. Bob enjoyed gardening, yard work and helping others in need. Always willing to lend a hand, Bob was known for his great sense of humor and for his generosity in snow blowing Oak St. religiously. He also belonged to the League of Catholic Women and Men, U.A.W. #668, St. John the Evangelist Church and was an avid election worker with the City of Essexville. His memory will live on in the hearts of those lives he touched for generations to come. Bob leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife and soul mate of forty four years, Sandy and children, Jeff and wife, Amy Grochowski of Essexville and Jill Quinlan of Freeland. Bob was the proud and loving Papa of Claire and Matthew Quinlan, Casey Grochowski and David Swanson. He also leaves behind his mother, Eleanor Wesolowski; brothers, Dave and wife, Mary Wesolowski and Dan and wife, Kathy Wesolowski; sister-in-law, Shirley and husband, Dick Howden, along with his very special neighbors, Marie Howe, Naomi Johnson, Buzz and Val Jacobs, Kathy and Marty Madziar and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bob was welcomed home to heaven by his father, Adrian Wesolowski; brother, Walter Grochowski; sister, Barb Dinsmore; mother and father-in-law, Cas and Irene Kryszak; brothers-in-law, Ron and Bob Kryszak and his special four legged buddy in life, Jake. Bob's family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil for the Deceased at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. On Saturday, October 12, 2013, Bob will be taken to St. John the Evangelist Church, 614 Pine St., Essexville, to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until his 10:00 a.m. Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Thomas J. McNamara will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Bob will be laid to rest on the forty fifth anniversary of him and Sandy meeting for the first time. Memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be directed to St. John the Evangelist Church or the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission. Well Uncle Bob you will be missed very much and yes you were a funny man.I will always remember being at gramdma’s with everybody for sunday soup we know you loved that. But who’s gonna tell me i get better looking every year now?? I guess i will face the fact but it was always funny hearing you say it… I guess just know you were loved by a;lot of people. Bob, You will be missed. You were such a loving caring and down right funny person. You always made me feel Comfortable in your presence. The good Lord came down and put you in the palm of his hands to take you home. Therefore He had very good and special plans for you. You now have no more pain and you are now at peace. GOD BLESS YOU!

Although I have only known Bob a short time I felt he made an impact in my life he always seemed to be careing, thoughtful, always in good spirits and kind I will miss him but I will never forget him im glad that i was able to be a part of his life…
