Robert H. Bailey

Passed away Friday, September 25, 2009. Age 88 years. Robert Henry Bailey was born June 25, 1921 in Saginaw to Charles J. and Mary E. (Diment) Bailey. He married Wilma Crites in 1947. They shared 61 years together. She survives him. Mr. Bailey served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War Two. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Eagles, and the 40 & 8 (Voiture). He had worked on the Pere Marquette Railroad, and later for General Motors, retiring in 1979. Bob had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Saginaw. Surviving besides his wife, he leaves five children: Charles J. Bailey, Robert H. Bailey, III, Linda Lake, Timothy J. Bailey, and Terry (Bill) Morgan; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister Ada Wendland; and many other loving family members and friends. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Jim Bailey; and two sisters: Beatrice Letson and Betty Sowulewski. Funeral service will take place 2PM Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home on S. Midland Road (M47). Rev. Russell Thomas will officiate with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 439 will be observed at the cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be from 9AM until the 2PM funeral service. Memorial offerings may be made to the American Cancer Society.
