Robert H. Mertz

Passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at his home, with his wife by his side, at the age of 83. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the war, and he was in the 5th RCT, the Triple Nickel 555. He was predeceased by his son, John, his parents, Henry and Mary Mertz, and his brother and two sisters. Bob had many dear friends, and will be dearly missed. His wish was for a private committal service. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jane Castillo and Reverence Hospice for their compassion, especially Mollie, Marquetta, Doni, and the others involved in Bob's care. Memorial offerings are suggested to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or Reverence Hospice. It was a real pleasure knowing Bob all these years. He enjoyed all of our years together at Baker Perkins and then talking about old times at the American Legion. I really miss him. My thoughts & prayers are with you, Jerry

Joann, we were so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing, and our prayers are for him as well as for you. You have been such a good friend to Oney and to us. May the angels wrap you in their arms and give you peace.
Joann, so sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. He always did a lot for others and will surely be missed by all. I still remember the hunting trips he made to Mom and Dad’s farm in Brant and of course, the opportunity to be the ring bearer at your wedding. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and for Bob.
