Robert J. Trudgen

Passed away Saturday March 24, 2012. Age 78 years. Robert John Trudgen was born in Lakefield Township to the late George Arno and Anna Jessie (Krupka) Trudgen. He married Leona "Trudie" Rhoades March 14, 1987. She survives him. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army. He had been employed as a foreman at Wyman-Gordon in Jackson and as an expeditor for CTX for 18 years. Robert was a member of Merrill Congregational Christian Church. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked to play cards with his family and friends and enjoyed travelling in his younger years. Surviving besides his wife are his children; Connie Alaniz of Merrill, Ken (Becky) Trudgen of Merrill, Alan Trudgen of Jackson, Tammy (Kevin) Dobbelaere of Marlette, and Lea Luderman of Tekonsha, 11 grandchildren; Melissa (Greg) Starke, Christina Alaniz, Jessica (Josh) Guilbeaux, Philip (Amber) Alaniz, Beth (Dan) Scoles, Bryan Trudgen, Alan Trudgen, Jr., Bill Trudgen, Chase Dobbelaere, Kylee Dobbelaere, and Darby Colvin, six great grandchildren; Andrew Trudgen, Ethan Starke, Ryan Starke, Preston Guilbeaux, Carter Alaniz, and Kensington Alaniz, one brother Roger (Carolyn) Trudgen, and one sister Sondra (Jim) Harris. Robert was predeceased by his son Dale Trudgen.A memorial service will take place 11AM Tuesday April 3, 2012 at Merrill Congregational Christian Church, 245 S. Midland Street in Merrill. Rev. Richard Gossett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings are suggested to the Cartwright Hospice Care Center or the charity of your choice.
