Passed away peacefully Sunday September 13, 2015. Age 73 years. Robert K. Burns was born December 7, 1941 in Freeland to the late Robert Kenneth and Dorothy (Russell) Burns. He married Judy D. Gilles and they shared 33 years together before her death March 30, 2014. Bob was a member of St. John Amelith Lutheran Church. He retired as an electrician in 2006. Bob was active with the Southwest Saginaw Neighborhood Watch Program and enjoyed his daily breakfast with friends at Tony's Restaurant. Surviving are his three children: Robert Burns, Shelly (Tom) O'Connor, and Bill (Amy) Burns; his step-daughter, Roxanne Holstrom; and six grandchildren: Tyler Burns, J.T. O'Connor, Megan Burns, Andrew O'Connor, Grant Burns, and Logan O'Connor. Also surviving are two sisters, Jessie Lee Wierda and Betty Miller; his father-in-law, Joseph Gilles; his life-long friend, Dick Kraenzlein; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family members and friends. Rev. Stephen Starke will officiate the funeral service at 12 Noon on Friday September 18, 2015 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S-M47). Entombment will take place at Oakwood Mausoleum. The family welcomes friends to visit on Thursday September 17 from 4 PM to 7 PM and one hour before the service on Friday. Memorial offerings may be given to St. John Amelith Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.   1. Very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a very good friend to us and we had many a good time at the farm with him and Dick. Bob was full of stories and we will truly miss them.

  3. Carl and I were so sad to hear of the passing of Bob. We worked with him many years ago at Ace Automatic Music and have many good memories of him. Our condolences to his family.
