Robert Lee “Smitty” Smith Jr., 60, of Hale, our loving, caring, funny, and honest soulmate, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Smitty was born December 26, 1955, in Wayne County to the late Robert Sr. and Lilah (Wolfeil) Smith. He attended Wayne Memorial High School and later went on to work as a parts manager in West Branch. Smitty loved spending time with his grandchildren, animals, and making others smile. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan and loved playing football. Smitty is survived by his soulmate of 16 years, Linda Templeton; children, Robert Smith III, Chris Wilson, Andrew Templeton, and Melinda Templeton; grandchildren, Carter Jakob-Lee Smith, Drew Wilson, Travis Wilson, and Lena Wilson; sisters, Darlene, Kathy, and Debbie, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and so many friends. Private arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp.   1. I remember the first evening we met. You came up and asked if you could sit and talk to me. We talked for hours and ended up dancing to the jukebox later on. The next day you called me and told me how proud you were of me that I was graduating from college that day. We have pretty much been together ever since. I will miss you dearly.
