Ronald William Mattison, 73, of Bay City, our proud and caring father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on the evening of Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his home. Ron was born in Bay City on July 3, 1942, the son of the late Harold and Norma (Moore) Mattison. He attended T.L. Handy High School, graduated with the Class of 1960, and went on to proudly serve in the national guard. Ron met the former Nancy Wachowski, the love of his life and they were married on January 26, 1963. Sadly, Nancy preceded Ron in death on October 30, 2005 after forty-two devoted years of marriage. Ron retired from General Motors and also worked for the Bay County Housing Commission. His love for life was contagious, and he will forever be remembered for his wonderful smile, along with his kind and sensitive ways. Ron's first love was his family, followed by his second love for his hot rods and Harley motorcycles. Ron's love and legacy will live on for generations to come. He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, who he loved with all his heart: Michele (Scott) Reilly and Jill Raynak; grandchildren, Angela and Julia Raynak and Sean and Sara Reilly; brothers, Mark (Emily) Mattison and Ted Mattison; sister, Karna Mattison, along with in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, Ron was welcomed home to heaven by his brother, Harold Mattison. The entire family extends a heartfelt thanks to Debby Coulter for helping care for Ron in his final days. Ron's family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 11:30 AM until the time of his 12:30 PM Tribute Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Cremation will follow. Immediately following the ceremony, Ron's family will welcome guests for a Celebration of Life Reception in The Wesley Room at Skorupski's. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com
