Ruth M. Gorney

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012. Age 85 years. Ruth Marie Postal was born January 26, 1927 in Saginaw to the late Roland and Frieda (Olsen) Postal. She married Henry J. Gorney July 20, 1946. He predeceased her May 17, 2005. Ruth enjoyed collecting bird figurines and caring for her pet parakeets. She also enjoyed sewing.Surviving are one daughter and one son, Mrs. Paulette (Jack) Tafel of Freeland and Roland (Ruth) Gorney of Carrolton; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey (Megan) Tafel, LeAnn Tafel-Weide, John Gorney, Neal (Heather) Gorney, Mandi Deloria, Glen (Kelly) Booth, and Marie Booth; 16 great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Postal of Evansville, IN and Alice Gorney of Saginaw. Ruth was predeceased by her great grandson Andrew Gorney, her grandson Roger Deloria, and her brother Howard Postal.Funeral service will take place 5 PM Sunday September 23, 2012 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S. M-47). Rev. Douglas Kahl will officiate. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of service. Memorial offerings are suggested to Luther Manor.
