Shirley E. Marx

Passed away Friday, February 25, 2011. Age 80 years. Shirley Echan Marx was born July 9, 1930 in Saginaw to Shirley A. and Louise (Plot) Marx. They predeceased him. He married Joan Hare on June 21, 1952. She survives him. Mr. Marx was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Saginaw. He was a meat cutter in his early years for several local food markets, and later worked for and retired from General Motors after 42 years of service. Surviving besides his wife Joan, he leaves one daughter and one son and their families; Connie (John) Gottschalk and their children Johnny and Kayla, and James (Luann) Marx and their children Amy, Jason, Lindsey and Erica, 6 great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister; Chester (Betty) Marx, Rosalee (Carl) Baldys, Keith (Cheryl) Marx, and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Funeral service will take place 11AM Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, 4432 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Michael Hahn will officiate with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends and family will gather at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2PM to 8PM, and at the church on Wednesday one hour before the funeral. Memorial offerings are suggested to Faith Ev.
