Thomas A. Martin

Passed away Wednesday January 29, 2014. Age 55 years. Thomas Arthur Martin was born April 9, 1958 to Arthur and Jane (Welch) Martin. He married Linda DeCaire in 1985. From that union was born their daughter Melissa. They survive him. Tom was a team leader for General Motors Truck & Bus Division for more than 30 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy since 1986, and during Desert Storm and Desert Shield where he served with the 1st Division of the U.S. Marines in the Battle of Khafji. Surviving besides his wife are his daughter Melissa (fiance Tony Noah) Martin, his parents; Arthur and Margaret Martin, two brothers; John Martin and Ted (Pat) Martin, one sister Teressa (Victor) Hupfer, sisters- and brothers-in-law; Ruthann (Craig) Evans, Cherri (Bob) Harris, and Roy (Leslie) DeCaire, many other loving family members and friends, and his beloved dog Tinker Bell. Tom was predeceased by his mother Jane Martin.Funeral and committal service will take place 7 PM Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S. M-47). Rev. Gerald Ferguson will officiate. Military honors will take place at the funeral home. Friends are welcome to gather with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service at 7 PM.
