Thomas Gerald Jane, 77, of Bay City, our hardworking and devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on Monday, April 29, 2019. Tom was born in Bangor Township on September 30, 1941, the son of the late Marion I. and Elizabeth L. (Adamowski) Jane. Tom graduated from T.L. Handy High School in 1960 and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army. On June 10, 1967, Tom was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Patricia Buda. In his earlier years, Tom worked as a cook at White’s Restaurant and for Don’s Towing. After 37 years of dedicated service, Tom retired from General Motors. While at GM working second shift, Tom also worked part-time jobs at Smith Industrial Supply, Ambrose & Squires Funeral Homes, and Key Security. After retirement, he enjoyed staying busy at Riverview Campground. Tom enjoyed stock car racing, monster trucks, bowling, woodworking, camping, fishing, and cooking. He was a member of the Essexville-Hampton Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Council #414, Board Member of Disability Services Resource Center, and was a former Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 156. Tom also enjoyed being active with the Birney Park Car Show, South End Business Men’s Club, Toys for Tots, Bay City Fireworks Festival, and Bay City Bowling Association. Tom leaves to carry on his legacy, his devoted wife of 51 years, Patricia, and their children: Marion T. (Sue) Jane and their children, Keagan, Jade, and Olivia; John A. Jane and Laurie A. (Paul) Gies. Tom also leaves behind his sisters, Jacqueline (Don) Ware, Betty (Richard) Reed, Wilhelmina Jane, Patricia (Ken) Hendricks; brother, Paul (Patricia) Jane, along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, Barb (Delton) Telfor, Issac (Patricia) Jane, Alice (Dennis) Bethke, and Marie Jane. Tom’s family will be present to receive visitors on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Vigil for Tom at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow the Vigil at Skorupski's. On Monday, May 6, 2019, Tom will be taken to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Stanislaus Kostka Church), 1503 Kosciuszko Ave., Bay City, where visiting will continue from 9:00 AM until Tom’s 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to wishes of the family.   6. Tom served up a great time in Scouting for both the boys and adults. He enjoyed putting pie in faces of fellow Scouters and Camp Director Marc Valentine. Tom was always good for a laugh at campfires and enjoyed filling our stomachs with great food he cooked. A true gem and sure am proud to have know him.

Condolences to the Jane Family members upon the loss of Tom ,,, I first met him through Scouting back in the 70’s ,,, then , later found out he was managing the Riverview Campground only a couple miles from my home. May our friend RIP and may GOD Bless this family during their time of healing .
