Thomas James Pillsbury

Thomas J. Pillsbury passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw. He was 87. Thomas was born November 08, 1931 to Thomas and Arvilla (Bolster) Pillsbury in Owendale, MI. He married Maria K. Pillsbury on August 19, 1967 and she survives him. Thomas served in the U.S. Army from March 29, 1951 – March 17, 1953, he was stationed in Germany. He loved to listen to and watch the Detroit Tigers play and going out to lunch. Thomas had many careers over his lifetime which included delivering milk, owning his own service station, and retiring from General Motors. He attended Community of Christ Church in Saginaw. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Maria K. Pillsbury; daughters, Cindy Pillsbury (Florida) and Julie Burrows (Florida), and one stepson, James C. McKenzie (California). He is also survived by his great niece, M. Michele (Justen) Schian of Birch Run, MI and many other family members. Thomas was preceded by his parents and all of his siblings, May, Marion, Sarah, Clara, Lorna and Robert. Per Thomas’s wishes, no service will be held. Private arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (formerly Reitz-Herzberg), 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot.
