Vera, age 83, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2015 at her home at the Grand Traverse Pavilions with her son, Don, and daughter, Sandy at her side. Vera was born August 16, 1932 in Saginaw to Helen and Walter (Schultz) Sieggreen. She had two younger sisters, Marlene and Rosemary. She proudly graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1950 and married Don Hollis in 1952. Vera married Don Hollis in 1952 and had three daughters, Debbie, Sandy, and Pam, and finally one son, Don II. While raising her four children, she worked as a waitress for 12 years at a famous restaurant on the Saginaw River called Treasure Island. Vera was happily married to Gary Humpert in 1972 from Reese, who passed away in an auto accident in 1987. With lots of fun friends, she enjoyed going on cruises and casino trips. She even won a cruise to Mexico in a sweepstakes. Her friends loved playing with the two slot machines in her basement also. Since high school, Vera belonged to a club that met monthly for about 50 years to play cards, share a special desert, and chat. In 1992, Gordon Michael MacDonald and Vera married in Las Vegas. They lived in Riverview, Florida when "Mike" passed away in 2007. In all her moves to Michigan and Florida, to Wisconsin, and back to Michigan again, her home was always beautiful and comfortable. Vera loved sharing excellent homemade meals. Vera devoted her life to family and friends, and fun gatherings. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Debbie Hollis, Sandy Miller, Pam and husband, Jim Bump, and Don Hollis II, and his companion, Nancy Chartier. Vera was the loving and devoted grandma of eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2016. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.

Thinking of all of you in your time of grief. My favorite memory of Vera was when her and my dad restored an original Red Ryder Wagon for Libby when she was a toddler and your mom had so much fun staging her in the wagon to take pictures of her when we went down for a visit in Florida. Praying for your family.
Aww, i can picture it!
Heather, she really loves you & yours!
Blessings, from Sandy~

Thank you for visiting in memory of my wonderful Mother. Know that peace is with her.
I’m Marlene’s grandson. I’m saddened that I haven’t seen you since I was very young and I didn’t have the chance to know you better. I will take solace knowing that you are at peace and no more pain.
