Kraatz, Verna Meyer Saginaw, Michigan Went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the age of 91 years. Verna Pickelmann was born May 11, 1923 in Saginaw to the late Herbert and Frieda (Lochmueller) Pickelmann. She married Robert O. Meyer in 1945. He predeceased her in 1992. She later married William W. Kraatz. He predeceased her in 2014. Verna was a very active and contributing member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards and golf and was a long standing member of the Germania club. She loved to entertain and was a great hostess and a great cook. Verna was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, and had retired from Eaton Corporation. Verna spent many winters in New Port Richey, Florida. She was a very giving and very generous woman, She will be sadly missed by her family.Surviving are her son, Jim (Nancy Howard) Meyer and his children, Erin and Dan. Also surviving are her daughter Patti (Ed) Finlay and their son, Joe (Beth); two great granddaughters, Lilli and Hazel; a sister-in-law, Marion Curtis; and many other loving family members and friends. Verna was predeceased by her brother, Herbert Pickelmann. Rev. Paul Hinz will officiate the funeral and committal service at 12 Noon Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Friends are welcome to call on the family at the church from 10 AM until the time of service.   2. So sorry Patti and Jim for the loss of your Mother. I spent many a day at your house, which seems like a hundred years ago, and I remember how beautiful I always thought she was. First class lady that I’m sure you will deeply miss.
