William H. Parth

Joined the heavenly choir on December 30, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Age 79 years. William Herbert Parth was born September 7, 1930 to John and Clara (Hess) Parth. They preceded him in death. Bill was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Saginaw where he devoted his life and talents to the music program. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. After military duty, the began working for Dow Chemical , retiring in 1992. Surviving are his nephew Brian (Judy) Passon of Birch Run, great niece Sarah (Matt) Ford of Vassar, great nephew Zachary Andrews of Saginaw, and great great niece Madison Ford of Vassar. Bill was also preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Passon, and his brother Wesley Parth. Funeral service will take place 11AM Monday, January 4, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church, 2nd and Federal Sts. Rev. Paulette Cummings will officiate. Interment will take place at 2PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 439 will be observed at the cemetery. Friends and family will gather at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home on S. Midland Rd (M47) on Sunday from 2pm to 8PM, and at church on Monday one hour before the funeral. Memorial offerings may be given to St. John Lutheran Church Music Program, or Hospice of Hope.
