Alfred Martin Schlicker
June 8, 1926 - January 30, 2022
Alfred Martin Schlicker, 95, of Bay City, our strong-willed, generous, and down-to-earth brother went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Alfred was born in Saginaw County on June 8, 1926, to Edwin and Martha (Keidel) Schlicker. Alfred served in the United States Army – P.F.C Military Police during World War II. He spent much of his time in Italy. Upon returning home, he spent much of his time on the family farm. He went on to become a Master Plumber with the Dow Chemical Company. Few things in this world meant more to him than his beloved wife, Mary Schlicker. As teenagers, they would dance Polka together. They later rekindled their love for one another and united in marriage on April 23, 1982. They were long time members of Trinity Lutheran Church, where Alfred was the oldest living member. Sadly, Mary predeceased him on August 5, 2014. When Alfred was not on the farm, you could find him fishing, playing cards or at the casino. He was a member of the Moose Club and VFW. Alfred leaves his sisters-in-law, DeAnn Centala (Buck Klatt), Helen Bauer, and Lucy Bauer to carry on his legacy. Alfred was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Schlicker; parents, Edwin and Martha Schlicker, and sister, Lenora Weiss. Private arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge and Center. Interment will take place privately at Lutheran Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
