Ann Margaret Porter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ann Margaret Porter, 102, of Saginaw Twp, our strong, independent and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt was born into eternal life on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at her residence, with her loving family by her side. Ann was born on January 16, 1920 to the late John and Margaret (Giraitis) Cook in Hillsboro, Illinois. She graduated from Saginaw High School. Ann worked as a secretary for several automotive companies over the years and retired from Saginaw Machine Systems. Ann was married to Frank Rogeske, who helped her raise her daughters. In her later years, Ann was united in marriage to the late Bernard (Barney) Porter. Sadly, Bernard passed away in 2018. Ann enjoyed baking, cake decorating, dancing, bowling, golfing, and fishing. Ann was a proud member of the Professional Secretaries Society, Big Sisters, Covenant Auxiliary, HealthSource Auxiliary, and Good Neighbors Pantry. Ann will be forever and deeply missed by her children, Carol (Joseph) DeFrancesco, Patricia (Albert) Premo, and Susan Forster; grandchildren, Rebecca (Joseph) Mooney, Regina Chinarian, Daniel (Neily) Premo, Patrick (Julie) Premo, Michael (Heather) Premo, Stacy Forster, Jack(Suzanne) Forster, Bess (John) Jayme, Ann Forster, and Joseph (Ivonne) Forster; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; stepdaughters, Gayle Boomer, Dawn (Doug) Bowen, Mary (Dave) Andrews, Jody (Bill) Meagher, Deanna (Rob) Herringshaw and Sher Kennedy, along with many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husbands, Ann was preceded in death by her grandson, James Forster, and her brother, Charles (Vivian) Cook. Ann’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 10:00 AM until Ann’s 12:00 PM Funeral Liturgy at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd., Saginaw Twp. Fr. Bert Gohm will preside with the Rite of Committal to be held privately at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sisters of St. Clare or St. John Vianney Church. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Covenant Visiting Nurses for their exceptional care and compassion.
