March 17, 1940 - July 3, 2021
Arthur John Jatczak, 81, of East Tawas, formerly of Bay City, our honest, hard-working, dedicated, friendly, and most loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on the afternoon of Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Lakeview Manor in Tawas City. Art was born in Bay City on March 17, 1940, the son of the late Edmund and Gertrude (Kensa) Jatczak. He was a graduate of St. Stanislaus High School and went on to meet the former Diane Glowiak, through Art’s sister. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 29, 1963. Art worked for General Motors for 34 years as a job setter, coordinator, and was also involved in special projects. He was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, and prior to retirement, Our Lady of Czestochowa (St. Stanislaus Kostka Church) in Bay City. In his free time, Art enjoyed fishing, hunting, time spent up north, watching sports, playing cards, and above all, time spent with his kids and grandkids. Art always watched all their school and sporting events, and was the kids’ number one fan on the sidelines. Art’s life accomplishment was raising his five children with his wife, who all turned out to be hard-working, conscientious, responsible, and respectable adults. His legacy of love and devotion to his family will live on for generations to come. To carry on his legacy, Art leaves behind the love of his life, Diane Jatczak; five children, Denise (Jim) Grigg, John (Heather) Jatczak, Jeff (Rebekah) Jatczak, Greg (Sandra) Jatczak, and Susan (Chad) Erndt; grandchildren, Parker Jatczak, Bradley Jatczak (fiancé, Margaret Benford), Jimmy Grigg, Hayden Jatczak, Hannah Jatczak, Brent Jatczak, Hunter Jatczak, Olivia Jatczak, Rylee Jatczak, Ember Erndt, and Ashley Erndt; brother, Robert (Tracy) Jatczak; sisters, Darlene Birrell and Karen (Don) Kossick; brother-in-law, Gary (Elaine) Glowiak, along with many nieces, nephews, and many friends; especially Dale & Betty Gillespie, Dale & Sharon Rouleau, Marv & Christina Thompson, and Maryanne & Ray Yehl. In addition to his parents, Art was welcomed home to heaven by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Dorothy Glowiak; brother-in-law, Vernon Birrell, and sister-in-law, Darlene Jatczak. Art’s family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Thursday, July 8, 2021, Art will be taken to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Stanislaus Kostka Church), where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Art’s 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Richard Jozwiak, who married Art and Diane, will preside with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the wishes of the family, c/o Diane Jatczak. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
