Betty Jane Claus Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty Jane Claus, 93, of Saginaw, our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and loyal friend was born into eternal life in the morning of Saturday, April 30, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. Betty was born on April 20, 1929 to the late Lawrence Frances and Olive Mildred (Chapman) Clare in Owosso. Betty met Jacob Claus when he came home from World War II. They dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on December 7, 1946. Sadly, Jacob passed away on July 8, 1987. Together they shared over 41 years and countless memories. Betty retired from Saginaw Township Schools after many years of service as a cook on June 10, 1987. She was a devoted member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Betty was involved in their Mary Martha Society. She was also a member of Tri-City Miniature Makers and enjoyed volunteering with a variety of non-profit organizations. Betty always put her family first and was a wonderful cook. Her kind heart and loving ways will live on in the hearts of many for years to come. To carry on Betty's legacy, she leaves her children, Dennis (Helen) Claus, and John Claus; grandchildren, Patrick (Kriss) Claus, Matthew Claus, Kathleen (Kevin) Hamel, Tammy Claus, Heidi Seigert, and Aubrina Johnson; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Trystan, Tamryn, Jourdyn, Nathen, Lexus, Jacobb, Joseph, Alerie and Jerald; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Clare and Joan Clare, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her loving husband and parents, Betty was welcomed home to Heaven by her daughter, Tina (Aubry) Pruitt; grandson, Michael Dennis Claus; great-grandson, Noah Hamel; brothers, Arden Clare and Lawrence (Gertrude) Clare, and sisters, Mary Sugar and Florence Hadley. Betty's family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM until her 11:00 AM Funeral Ceremony at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd., Hemlock. Reverend Richard Mundt will preside. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot.
