Caroline Josephine Woods, 98, of Bay City, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on the morning of Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Bay County Medical Care Facility after a courageous battle with COVID-19. Caroline was born on November 8, 1921 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Konke) Rousse. Caroline enjoyed caring for children for 15 years and loved to spend time with her family. Her hobbies included puzzles, dancing, and bird watching out her window. In her younger years, you could always find Caroline tending to her yard and gardening. Caroline leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Judy Vermeesch (Ken Gillmore), Corinne (Clare) Stevens, and Rodger (Amy) Woods; daughter-in-law, Carol Woods Hadd; grandchildren: Jodi (Steve) White and children, Hanna and Carson White; Jennifer Holmes (Clint Kicinski) and son, Drew Holmes; Shelly (Rick) Skibinski and son, Ryan Woods; Kristy (John) Robertson and daughter, Ashlyn and son, Nicholas (Jennifer) Medina; Jonathan (Clare) Wagner, Eric (Courtney) Wagner, and Megan Stevens; Misty Boyle and children, Blair Staudacher, Adelyn, and Kollyn Amthor; Ashley (Joe) Bublitz and Austin Woods; her great-great granddaughter, Lilly Medina; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Luptowski and Emma Rousse, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Lee A. Woods, Caroline was welcomed home to heaven by her son Robert Woods; son-in-law, Jim Vermeesch, and siblings, Lillian Luce, Sophie Hottis, Joseph Rousse, and Francis Rousse. The Tribute Ceremony for Caroline will be held privately at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. The Rite of Committal will also be privately held in St. Patrick’s Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
