July 3, 1928 - October 29, 2020
Edith Marie Mikolajczak, 92, of Bay City, our kind, friendly, resilient, and most loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother “NeNe,” sister, aunt, and loyal friend was born into eternal life peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at her home. Edith was born in Bay City on July 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Albin and Blanche (Nowak) Goik. She was a graduate of Bay City Central High School and attended business college. While in high school, she happened to meet Donald Mikolajczak. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 25, 1949. Throughout life, Edith enjoyed dancing, socializing and dining out, and traveling. In her own words, “My biggest accomplishments were my children. Family gatherings were a joy. Traveling with family and friends were happy times, and now I’ve reached the end of my journey of life. This is my last ha-rah; I’ve been blessed.” A faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Stanislaus Kostka Church), Edith enjoyed volunteering at church, staying active with the St. Stan's Senior Citizen Club (especially bus trips), and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Felician Sisters Auxiliary, and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Edith will be forever missed, yet lovingly remembered for generations to come. Left to carry on her legacy are her children, David (Ruth Ann) Mikolajczak; twins, Catherine (Jim) Bryll and Connie (Ken) Charbonneau; Dr. Cheryl (Jim) Dwyer, Paula Mikolajczak (Saaed Fattahi), Thomas (Phyllis) Mikolajczak, and Brian Mikolajczak; grandchildren, Kari (Kevin) McCabe, Jeremy (Ana) Mikolajczak, Katie (Brian) Foley, Jared (Katie) Bryll, Jason (Jean) Bryll, Nathan, Matthew, and Ryan Charbonneau, Sean Dwyer, Aubrey Dwyer (Austin DeWildt), Meredith (Garrett) Roe, Cameron Fattahi (Shirley Shue), Maia Fattahi, Michael (Katie) Burgett, David Burgett (Taylor Gilday), and Kyle Burgett; 12 great-grandchildren, who were the lights of Edith’s life; brother, Richard (Marilyn) Goik; sister-in-law, Nancy Mikolajczak; special friends, Dutch, Frances, and Irene, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
