September 13, 1932 - December 12, 2020
Elizabeth “Betty” Voss, 88, of Bay City, our caring, kind, genuine, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at McLaren Bay Region after a brief illness. Betty was born on September 13, 1932 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Robert and Clementine (Domkowski) Anderson. Betty married the love of her life, Delbert J. Voss on November 10, 1951. Together they shared over 49 years, five children, and countless memories. Sadly, Delbert preceded Betty in death on December 2, 2000. Betty was a parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. Joseph Church) and a longtime member of the St. Anne Society, Local 362 Retirees Group, Area 4, and the Red Hat Society. She was quite the card shark, playing very intense games of euchre with Bob, JoAnn, and Pinky and enjoyed family game nights. Betty loved to tell jokes, watch her favorite football teams, Michigan State and the Detroit Lions. Above all, Betty loved being with her family, they were the lights of her life. Betty will be missed dearly and lovingly remembered for generations to come. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Gary (Karen) Voss, Bill Voss, Jane Ann (Jim) Decatur, and Steve Voss; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, along with their spouses and several step-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (JoAnn) Anderson and Denny (Joan) Anderson; sister-in-law, Millie Alabaugh; very special friends, Shelley Walczak, Kathy, Carol Ann, and Brenda, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was welcomed home to heaven by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ann Voss; siblings, Sally (Harold) Guthrie and Mary Ann “Pinky” (Arnold) Voss; brothers and sisters-in-law, Beatrice (Edward) Kernstock, Helen (Ray) Timm, and Jim Alabaugh. Betty’s visiting will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Family may arrive at 12:00 Noon and friends may arrive from 1:00 PM until the time of her 2:00 PM Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with interment to be held in Floral Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Santa House c/o Mary Ida Doan, McLaren Hospice, or Good Samaritan Rescue Mission of Bay City. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
