Elizabeth A. Kielpinski

November 13, 1949 - March 6, 2021

Elizabeth A. Kielpinski, long-time Washington, D.C. resident died peacefully on March 6, 2021 at White Oak Medical Center, Silver Spring, Maryland. She was 71 years old. She was born in Munich, Germany on November 13, 1949 to Master Sargent Edward R. and Emily M. (Nagy) Kielpinski. She held a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communications from Corcoran School of Art, Washington, D.C. in 1972, and continued studies in photography and the visual arts from the Corcoran, Jacob Kramer College of Art, Leeds, United Kingdom and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. Photography was her passion. A quiet and reserved person, Elizabeth enjoyed reading, movies, knitting, travel, meals with friends and anything British. She retired from the National Gallery of Art in 2018, after more than 26 years of service. She leaves behind many close friends, especially Yayo Grassi and Curt Millay and dear cousins, especially Peter Kelpinski and Peggy Harris. Elizabeth's family and friends will be present to receive visitors on May 14, 2022 from 9:30 AM until her 11:00 AM Memorial Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N.
