January 4, 1946 - October 30, 2021
Elizabeth Louise Sheredy, 75, of Essexville, our loving, generous, sweet, and gentle mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at McLaren Bay Region. Liz was born in Bay City on January 4, 1946, the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Monica (Gwizdala) Janasik. She was a 1964 graduate of St. Stanislaus High School. Liz worked for many years in the banking profession, spending much of her time as a Head Teller and in the commercial lending department. Later in life, Liz was the Office Manager at Owner Realty. While raising her family, she enjoyed camping, gardening, and canning. A lifelong collector of Precious Moments, she also enjoyed cross stitching and attending her grandchildren’s sporting and cheer events. Always selfless, she gifted her cross stitching, her time, and her love with family and community. Liz’s spirited ways will live on always. To carry on her legacy, Liz leaves her three children, William (Kelly) Sheredy, Jennifer (Yahn) Irvine-Lebo, and Robert (Lisa) Sheredy; grandchildren, who were the lights of her life: Jacob Sheredy, Brody Irvine, Jackson Irvine, Rachel Lebo, Sarah Lebo, Brandon Sheredy, Austin Sheredy, and Madison Sheredy. Also surviving are Liz’s sisters, Mary Anne (R. Roger) Richert, Frances Cataldo, and Margaret Janasik, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul (Marlene “Molly”) Janasik, John Janasik; her brother-in-law, Frank Cataldo, by her son-in-law, John VanderWoude, Jr.; and former spouse, Dennis Sheredy. Liz’s family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Vigil at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Saturday, November 6, 2021, Liz will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church) 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Liz’s 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to be held in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery.
