Esther Mary Miller Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Esther Mary Miller, 89, of Sanford, our loving, compassionate, and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2021. Esther was born on December 26, 1931 to the late Ernie and Virginia (Sanchez) Silva. Esther graduated from St. Joseph High School and went on to graduate from Mercy Central School of Nursing in Grand Rapids in 1953. She met Maurice Miller while attending school with his sister; they dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 27, 1953. Sadly, Maurice passed away in March of 1983. Esther retired as a Registered Nurse in 1997 from Midland Hospital. She was always giving to those around her and enjoyed cooking family meals. Esther also enjoyed knitting, tending to the flowers and vegetables in her garden, and camping. To carry on her legacy, Esther leaves her children, Paul (Pam) Miller, John (Mila) Miller, Donna (Ray) Fox, and Maurice S. Miller; grandchildren, Angie (Mike) Wetherell, Michelle Miller, Paul Miller, and Brian Coats Miller; great-grandchildren, Anessa Martinez, Skylar Wetherell, Gavin Wetherell, Tavia Wetherell, Tristyn Miller, Xavier Coats, and Aiden Coats; great-great-grandchild, Caitlyn Martinez; sister, Josie (Manuel) Hernandez; sister-in-law, Chris Silva, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Esther was welcomed home to heaven by her stillborn daughter, Bernadette; her siblings; daughter-in-law, Sharon Miller, and great-granddaughter, Lillianna Wetherell. Esther’s family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, June 6, 2022, from 10:00 AM until her 12:00 Noon Memorial Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Meridian Acres in Sanford for the excellent care they provide to their mother during her time there.
