August 4, 1949 - August 2, 2021
Genevive Ann “Jennie” Poole, 71, of Bay City, our friendly, kind, loveable, sweet, and most strong-willed and resilient wife, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on Monday, August 2, 2021 at her residence. Genevive was born in Bay City on August 4, 1949, the daughter of the late Robert Leo and Cauline Helen (Dietlein) VanTol. She attended St. John’s School and was a graduate of All Saints High School. While at a party, she happened to meet David Poole. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on April 12, 1980. Always one with a strong work ethic, Jennie worked on the family farm for 28 years. She was a parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and in her free time she enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and going for rides to see deer. Jennie was always positive and looked at life with an upbeat attitude. Her determination and kind ways were an inspiration to all, and will forever be remembered. To carry on her legacy, Jennie leaves behind her husband of 42 years, David Poole, along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Jennie was welcomed home to heaven by her siblings Mary Lou and Ernest. Genevive’s family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Saturday, August 7, 2021, Genevive will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:30 AM until Genevive’s 11:30 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of DaVita Dialysis and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be directed to The American Kidney Fund. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
