George Frank DeClerck, Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George Frank DeClerck, Jr., 79, of Hampton Twp., our hardworking and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on the evening of Friday, February 4, 2022 at Brian’s House. George was born in Bay City on April 20, 1942, the son of the late George Frank DeClerck, Sr., and the former Mary Wachowski. As a young boy, George met Jeannie Tackman. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 3, 1961 in St. John’s Church. George worked for General Motors for many years, retiring in 1996 from Grey Iron Foundry. He was also a lifelong farmer. In his free time, he enjoyed time spent at the casino, traveling up north, and frequenting markets. George’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come. To carry on his legacy, George leaves his faithful wife of 60 years, Jeannie DeClerck; son, Kenneth (Lori) DeClerck; granddaughters, Kendra (Matt) Gauthier and Amanda DeClerck; great-granddaughters, who were the lights of his life, Matalyn and Kendyl Gauthier; sisters, Carmalita Bowles, Kay Kaczynski, Darlene Trigg, Shirley (Jim) Warmus, and Ruth (Jerry) Lauria; brother, Robert DeClerck; sisters-in-law, Joyce Bublitz, Patricia (Tom) Young, Dale Horner, and Lucille Parrent, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Clara Tackman, and brothers-in-law, Willard Bowles, Walt Kaczynski, Wilbur Bublitz, Larry “Mouse” Horner, and Francis Parrent. George’s family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Vigil at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Wednesday, February 9, 2022, George will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until George's 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy.
