Gladys Emma Krzysiak, 90, of Essexville, our compassionate, helpful, loving, and strong-willed mother and grandmother was born into eternal life on the morning of Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Bay City Comfort Care. Gladys was born in Glens Falls, New York on November 14, 1931, the daughter of the late Albert and Leona Couture. Throughout life, Gladys was known for her unwavering love of her family. Always a hard worker, Gladys retired from Meijer, where she was well loved in the children’s department. A devout Catholic and woman of deep faith, Gladys was a faithful parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, shopping, and completing puzzles and word searches. Never one to have a driver’s license, Gladys was known for her love of walking and bicycling. A true angel on earth, Gladys was loved by all. Her generous and selfless ways will forever live on. To carry on her legacy, Gladys leaves her children, Linda (Carl) Theaker, Sonja “Sonny” (Mike) Taylor, Rene Sweebe, Kathy (Robert) Willett, Tina (Jeff) Preston, Michael (Rachel) Krzysiak, and Lisa (Tim) Alarie; grandchildren, Pat (Michelle) Theaker, Amy (Steve) Loubert, Tara (Allen) Thomas, Joy (Jerry) Weller, Matthew Leist (Katie Middleton), Dan (Barb) Willett, Mark (Amy) Willett, Chad (Amber) Willett, Aaron Preston (Kirsten Gloria), Brandon (Rowan) Preston, Bradley Krzysiak, Hannah Krzysiak, Paige Alarie (Remy Wilkinson), and Tanner Alarie (Camrie Cervantes); 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Daniel (Karen) Couture and Michael (Carol) Couture; sister, Esther Studds; beloved sister-in-law, Caroline Piotrowski; special niece, Cathy (Mike) Cirullo, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by the father of her children and dear friend, John Richard Krzysiak; sons, Albert “Butch” Andrew Krzysiak and Daniel Richard Krzysiak, along with many siblings. Gladys’ family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Vigil at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Thursday, March 10, 2022, Gladys will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Gladys’ 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will preside with the Rite of Committal to be held privately in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Gladys’ family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Bay City Comfort Care and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care.
