Jim Buda, 80, of Bay City, our devoted and kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region. Jim was born in Bay City on May 6, 1941, the son of the late Florian and Florence (Mindykowski) Buda. He graduated from St. Stanislaus Kostka High School, where he attended K-12. While working as a bagger at Ray’s Food Fair, he happened to notice a young lady by the name of Mary Hahl. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 16, 1963 in Cadillac. Their 58 years were blessed with four children and countless memories. Jim retired from General Motors – Saginaw Steering Gear Plant 2, where he worked from 1963-1995. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. VanRooy Council #2740 in Essexville, where he was presently the Financial Secretary and a Fourth Degree Knight with the John F. Kennedy Assembly #503. Jim also served as Past Faithful Navigator. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. A talented artist, Jim was an excellent craftsman. Always handy, Jim was known for his gift of building. He also had a wonderful gift of gab, and never met a stranger. With a heart larger than life, Jim’s kind ways will forever live on. To carry on his legacy, Jim leaves his loving wife, Mary Buda; children, Christine (Charlie) Aldrich, Catherine Buda, William (Becky) Buda, and Laura (Roger) Lopez; grandchildren, Dustin (Ashley) Aldrich, David (Jordan) Aldrich, Stephanie Buda, Steven (Gabby) Buda, Shelby Buda, Victoria Lopez, and Elena Lopez; great-grandchildren, Emmaleigh, Parker, Carter, DeAndre Jr., Reagan, Oliver, and Addison; twin sisters, Jeanette VanSnepson and Janice (Roger) Faustin; in-laws, Jean Buda, Lucille (Ken) Dill, Nora Fraser, Thomas (Gail) Hahl, and Ruth Hahl, along with many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
