James "Jim" Arnold Hunt Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James Arnold Hunt, 79, of Bay City, formerly of Flint Township, our kind, courageous, compassionate, and fun-loving husband, brother, uncle, and loyal friend was born into eternal life on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his home with his beloved wife by his side. Jim was born on September 12, 1942 to the late Daniel and Viola (Rathbun) Hunt in Flint. He graduated from Davison High School and attended Flint Junior College for a few years. After graduation, he courageously joined the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. When Jim returned home from the war, he was employed by General Motors – Flint Division. He joined the Sheriff’s Department of Roscommon County, and later retired from the Genesee County Sheriff Department. “Farmer Jim” met the beautiful “Farmer Cari” while they both were working at Montrose Orchards in Montrose. They were united in marriage on April 27, 2002. Together, they enjoyed 20 years and countless memories together. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, grocery shopping, and cooking. He was especially known for making soups, and catering “Soup Suppers” and fish fries at home. Nothing was more important to Jim than spending time with his family and friends. To carry on his legacy, Jim leaves his beloved wife, Carolyn Hunt; brother, Wayne (Ruth Ann) Hunt; brother-in-law, Ed (Vanessa) Skirlo; sisters-in-law, Linda Hunt and Janet Webster, along with many nieces and nephews. Jim also leaves his great-nephew, Levi Ruschke, who was the light of his life. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald Hunt and Cecil Hunt, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Donna (Campbell) Skirlo. Jim's family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 10:30 AM until his Memorial Ceremony at 12:00 Noon at Westwood Heights Free Methodist Church, 3397 Windland Dr, Flint, MI 48504. Reverend Thomas Saunders will preside. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N.
