Jeanette Fay VanAlst, 74, of Essexville, our mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt was born into eternal life and reunited with her beloved husband, Mike, on the morning of Sunday, April 25, 2021. Jeanette was born in Bay City, the daughter of the late Bert and Ann (Eurich) VanOchten. She was a graduate of St. John's High School and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Michael Edward VanAlst, and their marriage was blessed with over 52 years, two children, and countless memories. Mike preceded Jeanette in death in 2018. Throughout her life, Jeanette worked as a bank teller, office manager, lunch lady and retired from Essexville-Hampton Public Schools, where she was a school bus driver. Jeanette was a member of AMVETS Post 22 and enjoyed hosting gatherings for friends and family. Jeanette's greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for generations to come. To carry on her legacy, Jeanette leaves her daughter, Julie (Matthew) Williams; son, John (Stacy) VanAlst, and special nephew, Matthew (Amelia) Krysinski; grandchildren, Jack and Monica Williams; great-grandchildren, Aemillia Fernandes and Cassidy Krysinski; siblings, Janet (Gary) Senk, John Smith, and Joan (Fred) Dechow; sisters-in-laws, Jackie DeWyse and Donna VanAlst, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jeanette was welcomed home to heaven by her two grandsons, Aaron and Alec Fernandes. Jeanette's family will be present to recieve visitors on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 9:30 AM until the time of her 10:30 AM Memorial Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
