November 15, 1941 - January 19, 2021
Judy Ostash, 79, of Bay City, our compassionate, gracious, and most generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born into eternal life on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born in Bay City on November 15, 1941, the daughter of the late George Marceille Lemuel, Sr. and the former Helen Mary (Pero) Lemuel. While working as a car hop at Richie’s Drive In on Euclid Ave. in the late 1950’s, she happened to meet a young man by the name of James “Stash” Ostash. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on August 3, 1963 in St. Maria Goretti Church. Judy was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish and attended St. Boniface as well. She enjoyed volunteering at church and also with the Special Olympics and American Cancer Society. Judy enjoyed staying active and socializing at the Knights of Columbus, Council #414, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Judy participated in the Senior Olympics bowling in which she was awarded a medal of every color. She enjoyed spending time at Sandy Shores resort. She had a beautiful singing voice with which she enjoyed sharing with others. A devoted homemaker, she was known for her wonderful cooking and baked goods. In her free time, she also enjoyed gardening. Her beautiful smile would instantly light up the entire room. A beautiful soul gone too soon, Judy’s happy-go-lucky and loving ways will forever live on. Judy leaves to carry on her legacy, her faithful husband of 57 years, James William “Stash” Ostash and children, William J. Ostash (Kevin Rooker), Michelle Marie (Tony) Donald, and Cheryl Lynn (Ken) Howden; grandchildren, Natasha Cosby, Trashan Donald, and Asia Donald, great-grandson and light of her life, Sebastian Cantu; sister-in-law, Lucille Lemuel; best friend and niece, Mary Bassett, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Judy was welcomed home to heaven by her siblings, Genevieve “Gen” (Earl) Bayliss, George (Gay) Lemuel, Cliff Lemuel, Elizabeth “Betty” (Howard) LaPrairie, Madonna “Donna” (Pat) Trudell, and Gerald “Jerry” Lemuel. A Life Celebration will be held at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center, on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 PM with a 1:00 PM Ceremony officiated by Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera.
