May 7, 1948 - December 19, 2021
Judy (Cianek) Hansford, 73, of Essexville, our faithful, loving, generous, and most devoted wife, mother, Grammy, sister, aunt, and friend, was born into eternal life on Sunday, December 19, 2021 with family by her side. Judy was born in Bay City on May 7, 1948, the daughter of the late Raymond and Flora (Walther) Cianek. Judy graduated as Valedictorian from St. John’s High School with the Class of 1966. While at her cousin’s, she met Daniel Joseph Hansford and the two have been inseparable since the age of 14. Judy and Dan were united in marriage on July 18, 1970 at St. John’s Church in Essexville. Judy was the proprietor of Bay Sporting Art, where she was known for her hard work and love for her many faithful customers. Judy’s true pride and joy in life were her grandchildren, the lights of her life. Always thinking of others, Judy was known to document family moments from behind a camera. She was a perfect wife and mother; a loving and supportive “Grammy;” a cherished cousin, and most loyal friend who will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for years to come. Through illness, Judy never ran from her daily cross, and suffered well - releasing grace for others to grow closer to God. To carry on her legacy, Judy leaves behind her husband, Dan Hansford and their son, Brey (Claudia) Hansford. She was the unconditional loving “Grammy” of Adriana Lynn Hansford and Daniel John Hansford. Judy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Beth Cianek; brother in-law, Don (Marylin) Hansford. Also surviving are many nephews, beloved cousins, loyal customers, and many cherished friends. Judy’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 10:00 AM until Judy’s 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
