Kathleen Theresa Groulx

December 9, 1933 - July 20, 2021

Kathleen Theresa Groulx, 87, of Munger, our loving and caring, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and Matriarch of the family passed away with her family by her side on the evening of Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at her residence. Kathleen was born in West Branch on December 9, 1933, the daughter of the late Harry and Edwina (Walters) Rau. She married her one and only love, Bernard Norbert Groulx on September 1, 1951, whom she met while at a wedding in West Branch. Kathleen lived in Munger for 70 years, where she and her family farmed for many of those years. A wonderful homemaker, Kathleen raised four children. Her hobbies included camping, holidays, dancing, bus trips to the casino, enjoying the family cabin at Houghton Lake, and above all, time spent with her family. A former parishioner of St. Norbert’s in Munger, Kathleen was known for always putting the needs of others before her own. Her gracious and loving ways will live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come. To carry on her leagacy, Kathleen leaves behind her children, Marlene (David) Wolkens, Deborah (Jay) Jordan, and Gary (Sue) Groulx; grandchildren, Tina Shaw, Mike (Shelly) Groulx, Christine (Bobby) Fick, Stephanie (Adam) Doud, Paul Koperna, Jr., Jennifer (Russell) Neering, Jessica (Anthony) Astbury, and Katelin (Troy) Deyarmond; great-grandchildren, Austin, Amber, Sarah, Calyb, Connor, Alexis, Russell, Nathaniel, Paul III, Kaylei, Kyle, Troy, Riley, Nova, Brinley, Gannon, and Anthony Jr.; great-great grandchildren, Zander and Henry; brother, Bob (Lyla) Rau; along with many, many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband of nearly 62 years, Bernard, Kathleen was welcomed home to heaven by her son, Danny Groulx, five siblings, along with many in-laws. Kathleen's family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 12:00 Noon until Kathleen's 3:00 PM Tribute Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. A reception will follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski's. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to special friends, Holly & Gregg Rigg, along with her caregivers and Residential Hospice for their loving care in Kathleen’s time of need.
