January 12, 1942 - August 19, 2021
Kaye Georgina Hausbeck, 79, of Bay City, our creative, social, caring, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Primrose Retirement Community of Midland. Kaye was born on January 12, 1942, in Bay City, the daughter of the late George M. and Stella M. (Beslaer) Schoerner. Kaye graduated from St. James High School and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Education from Michigan State University. On August 8, 1964, Kaye married the love of her life, Constant “JR” Hausbeck. Their marriage was blessed with 57 beautiful years, three wonderful children, and countless memories. She worked as a teacher at many Bay City Public Schools, mostly MacGregor and Hampton Elementary, before retiring in 1994. Kaye was a dedicated parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church) and a long time member of St. Norbert’s of Munger. She was a member of the Speedy Sew sewing club, Bay Area Retired School Personnel, and Alpha Delta Kappa. Kaye loved to sew, quilt, tend to her flowers, go for walks and bike rides, spend time volunteering, and enjoying time with the “Out to Lunch Bunch.” She enjoyed traveling with JR, especially to Anna Maria Island, and meeting up with all their Florida friends. Above all, Kaye’s family was her pride and joy, and time spent with them was when she was happiest. Her loving, kind and thoughtful ways will live on for generations to come. Kaye leaves to carry on her legacy, her devoted husband, Constant “JR”; children, Todd (Theresa) Hausbeck, Kurt (Tina) Hausbeck, and Amy (Dave) Hurst; grandchildren, Brandon and Alexa Hausbeck, Eric (Katie) Cook, Brad Cook, Taylor Hausbeck (fiancé, Ben Poirier), and Hannah and Logan Hurst; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Lewis, Ruth Ann Hausbeck, and Clarice Hausbeck; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kaye was welcomed home to heaven by her parents, George and Stella Schoerner; in-laws, Constant and Viola (Smith) Hausbeck, Sr.; brother, Allan Schoerner; along with many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Kaye’s family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, August 23, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Kaye will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until the time of her 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s following the committal. A special thank you is extended to Aubrie Beyer (Kaye’s great niece) for taking care of Kaye and JR during their time of need and the special relationship that she had with them. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Judy Lauria, Kaye’s hospice nurses, and the staff at Primrose Retirement Community of Midland for the loving care shown to Kaye.
