Linda Margaret (Ortega) Scheall

October 29, 1946 - October 26, 2020

The Lord quietly took Linda Margaret (Ortega) Scheall, 73, of Bay City home on the morning of Monday, October 26, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born in Saginaw on October 29, 1946. Growing up, Linda had fond memories of her parents demonstrating their faith and giving their children many experiences, and having fun. She was a graduate of Freeland High School, attended Delta College, and earned her B.S. from Western Michigan University. Throughout life, Linda was a prominent minority speaker, who was nationally recognized as an outstanding young woman for her volunteer work in Detroit through the Quaker Organization. She retired from Bay City Public Schools, where she worked as a Teacher’s Aide. Linda was instrumental in initiating Kindergarten Roundup, continued to this day in many schools. She was also instrumental in bringing Academic Track to Western High School. Lind also enjoyed being active with 4H; a hobby which taught her how to sew. She enjoyed working with her hands, be it cross stitching, making quilts for her family, and making charity quilts with various church groups. Linda was most grateful for her son, Chris; sister, Susan, and friends, Lorie, Pam, Susie, and Tom for their support and prayers through her journey. Linda leaves to carry on her legacy, her son, Christopher Scheall; siblings, Susan (Michael) Passariello, Steven Ortega, and Hope VanTiem. She was welcomed home to heaven by her husband of 47 years, Ronnie Scheall; son, Nicholas Scheall, and father, Eustacio Ortega. Private services will be held.
