Lindy Lewis “Gator” Bublitz, Jr., 70, of Essexville, our strong, determined, loving, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at home, with his family by his side. Lindy was born in Bay City on March 1, 1951, the son of Lindy L. and Leona M. (Vermeesch) Bublitz, Sr. Lindy graduated from high school and went on to serve in the Army Reserves for 6 years. Lindy retired from General Motors and was a parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church). In 2010, while out singing karaoke at the local pub, Lindy got up the courage to ask out the former, Karen Verhaeghe. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on July 26, 2014. Lindy loved camping, riding his beloved Harley, and most of all, spending time with his family. Lindy’s fun and loving soul will be missed for years to come. Lindy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of almost seven years, Karen; children, Bob (Helen) Bublitz, Julie (Robert) Altsheffel, Mike (fiancé, Bethany Rytlewski) Bublitz; step-children, Anthony (Jennie) Verhaeghe, Katie (Terry) Baker, and Brad (Amanda Pomranky) Hodge; grandchildren, Trenton Altsheffel, Dylan Krause, Nathan Rytlewski, and Logan Baker; his mother, Leona Bublitz; brothers, Larry (Dawn) Bublitz and Lenn (Pam Spyker) Bublitz, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Lindy was welcomed home to heaven by his father, Lindy Sr. Lindy’s family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 3:00 PM until the time of his 7:00 PM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to 1st State Home Healthcare and Hospice for their compassionate and exceptional care of Lindy.
