Marilyn May McDonald Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marilyn May McDonald, 86, of Bay City, our thoughtful, loving, and sometimes strong-willed mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away at her home on Friday, June 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving children. Marilyn was born in Bay City on December 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Shirley (Nichol) McDonald. Growing up, Marilyn overcame many adversities in life, which contributed to her strong-willed ways. She attended Bay City Central and went on to work for General Motors for 19 years, and later for Wal-Mart, where she worked third shift stocking shelves. Marilyn loved her time at Wal-Mart, making many friends along the way. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, cooking, reading, and watching football. Her devoted ways will live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come. To carry on her legacy, Marilyn leaves her four children, John (Kathleen) Hartman, Joni (Tom) Klepser, Jaki (Al) Herman, and Jeffrey (Maryann) Hartman; grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Christina (Mike), Joshua (Megan), Kendra (Curt), Kevin (ThresAnne), Victor, Chad, Angela (Jay), Jeffrey Jr., Jami (DJ), Jeffrey (Nikota), Chase and Julie (Brian); 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sisters, ShirleyAnn, Judy, Diane, and Geri; special sister-in-law, Sandy, and Diane, her faithful shopping friend. Marilyn was welcomed home to heaven by her parents; siblings, Jacqueline, Bobby, Lloyd Hardy and Lloyd, and her loving granddaughter, Kellie. Marilyn's family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a 4:00 PM Memorial Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Rev. Kevin Jones will preside. The entire family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to ProMedica Staff, Julie Rousse and Kim Everitt.
