Mary Lou Jacobs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Lou Jacobs, 93, of Bay City, our precious and most loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born into eternal life on the morning of Saturday, March 19, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. Mary Lou was born on October 2, 1928 to the late George and Elizabeth (McDonald) Periard in Bay City. She graduated from St. Joe’s Catholic High School and went on to meet her husband, Donald Jacobs. They met at a dance, fell in love, and were united in marriage on May 26, 1951. Donald predeceased her on her birthday, October 2, 2003. Mary Lou was a devout Catholic and faithful parishioner of All Saints Parish. She was known for her kind soul and gentle smile. Her life is not only measured by longevity, but also by the memories she gifted her family to cherish. She enjoyed gathering at her oval kitchen table to compose shorthand notes that only she could translate, cooking meals with an array of colors, sharing stories of her youth how she walked six miles to school every day and then taking care of the beloved cows when she returned home, camping and bonfires, playing ball with anyone willing, praying Novenas and Rosaries for everyone that requested one, the best bed time story teller to her grandkids, and her pure enjoyment to go on car rides to anywhere the wind would blow. To carry on her legacy of a life well lived and loved, Mary Lou leaves her children, Maureen Johnson, Marie (Mike) Puchel, Marlene Williams, Don (Therese) Jacobs, Darrell Jacobs, Michele Holm, Darin Jacobs, Duane (Donna) Jacobs, and Marcia (Mike) Sniecinski; grandchildren, Jeremiah Johnson, Amy Johnson, Kimberly Larson, Kelli (Aaron) Shurtliff, Eric Puchel, Lisa Puchel, Peter Williams, Andrew Williams, Ashley Jacobs, Cory (Emily) Jacobs, Matthew (Rachel) Jacobs, Mark (Vanessa) Jacobs, Nicole Holm, Bryan (Correy) Holm, Jerad Jacobs, Shawn Jacobs, Breanna Jacobs, Janae Sniecinski, and David Sniecinski; eight great-grandchildren; special relative, Diane Jacobs, along with three siblings, Pat, Joan, and Ed. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was welcomed home to heaven by siblings, Lee, Neil, Eileen, John, Marie, Jean, and Joseph. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be private for immediate family and celebrated on Mary Lou’s deceased husband Donald’s birthday, March 22, 2022, concluding with a car ride procession past her favorite destinations, Bay City State Park and St. Laurent Brothers, before being laid to rest in St. Patrick Cemetery.
