Mary Margaret (Strieter) Klopf

October 23, 1950 - July 5, 2021

Mary Margaret (Strieter) Klopf of Bay City, our fun-loving and kind wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend went home to heaven on Monday, July 5, 2021 at The Carriage House. Mary was born in Bay City on October 23, 1950, the daughter of Edward and Margaretha (Philipp) Strieter. Mary graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary School in Saginaw and went on to earn her teaching degree from Dr. Martin Luther College in Minnesota. Mary taught for over 25 years before retiring, and after retirement she went on to work in the Library at Davenport University. On August 28, 1999, Mary was united in marriage to Dennis Klopf. Together they shared almost 22 years and countless memories. Mary was her happiest when she was teaching; even while at The Carriage House, Mary would always be helping and trying to teach others. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, and most recently coloring. Mary will be missed dearly for years to come. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Dennis; step-daughter, Tami Klopf; mother, Margaretha Chernavage; siblings, David (Loretta) Strieter and George (JoEllen) Strieter; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary was welcomed home to heaven by her father, Edward Strieter. Private arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. A Memorial Ceremony will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at The Carriage House for the many years of compassion and exceptional care. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
