Nancy Jean Turbin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nancy Jean Turbin, 69, of Essexville, our gentle, caring, and most loving wife, mother, grandmother and Mimi, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare – Harrison. Nancy was born in Bay City on January 27, 1953, the daughter of the late James and Freda Fern (Prior) Patterson. She was a 1971 graduate of T.L. Handy High School and went on to attend Delta College. While in grade school, Nancy happened to meet a young man by the name of Richard Allen Turbin. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 29, 1972. Nancy worked as an Optician at Sears for 20 years. She was known for patient and kind ways with patients. A true servant of the Lord, Nancy was a faithful member of Kawkawlin Community Church, where she will be deeply missed. Nancy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, making jewelry, and in her younger years, camping throughout Michigan, where she was always sure to enjoy an evening bonfire. Nancy’s favorite pastime was frequenting area garage sales; always making sure to stop by multiple sales, never just one. Above all, Nancy loved time spent with her family and enjoyed family functions where everyone was together. Her legacy of helping anyone in need and her unwavering love for others will forever live on. To carry on her legacy, Nancy leaves her husband, Richard Turbin, and children, Sarah (Scott) Klopf, Jeff (Deanna) Turbin, and Nathan (Aleena) Turbin, along with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Visscher Ulman, and her infant grandson, Easton Gilman Turbin. Nancy’s family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Nancy will be taken to Kawkawlin Community Church, 311 Grove St., where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Nancy’s 11:00 AM Funeral Ceremony with interment to follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery.
