March 26, 1933 - December 16, 2021
Nancy Jo Jacobs, 88, of Essexville, our loving and most witty wife, mother, and grandmother was born into eternal life on the morning of Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Brian's House. Nancy was born in Bay City on March 26, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph and Corinne (Mercier) Brabant. Nancy graduated as valedictorian from St. John's High School. While in high school, she happened to meet Thomas Jacobs. The high school sweethearts were united in marriage on November 5, 1955. Throughout life, Nancy's pride and joy always was her family. A devout Catholic, Nancy was a faithful member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, where she was active with serving the funeral luncheons. A true servant of the Lord, Nancy always lifted her family and friends up in prayer. She enjoyed bible study, canning, and was known for her wonderful cooking skills (especially her goulash). Nancy also enjoyed baking, playing card games, traveling, and trips to the casino. Nancy was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, along with the L.C.B.A. Always quick with the one-liners, Nancy's humorous ways and love for her family and friends will forever live on. To carry on her legacy, Nancy leaves her husband, Thomas Jacobs; children, Pamela (Kim) Gary, Mary (Joseph) Hammond, Eli Jacobs, John (Mary) Jacobs, and Jeff (Peggy) Jacobs; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), along with her sister-in-law, Ethyl Jacobs, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Sebald, and her granddaughter, Caitlyn Hammond. Nancy's family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, Nancy will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Nancy's 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to be held in St. Patrick Cemetery. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heartland Promedica Hospice and Brian's House for the wonderful care provided this past year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Brian's House. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
